Choose the recipient's supported network first. A cheaper incompatible transfer is not a saving.

Compare current total costs
Wallet resources, network conditions and the platform's withdrawal policy can change what you pay. A fixed fee published by a service is its own charge, not necessarily the chain's current cost.
For a fair comparison, request the same received amount on each supported network and identify charges paid separately in native tokens. Do not reuse a dated blog's gas estimate as a current price.
The wrong-network error cannot be solved by a ticker
An address shown by a receiving platform must be used only with the token and network that platform specifies. Do not infer recovery capability from an address format or from support for another EVM chain.
If you already sent to an unsupported network, preserve the transaction record and contact the recipient through its verified channel. Recovery is not guaranteed.

Choose the network your recipient accepts
Choose TRC20 or ERC20 USDT from the recipient's deposit instructions, then match the issuer-listed token and compare network costs. A lower fee cannot make an unsupported network compatible.
Sending on one network does not automatically convert a deposit to the other. Establish whether the proposed operation is a transfer, swap, bridge or custodial handoff. Neither standard proves a provider's identity-check, record-retention or privacy practices.
