Use the precise network name
Circle's mainnet reference specifies Polygon PoS. Do not treat the wider Polygon product name as proof of support for every network or token under that brand.
Match the issuer entry to the chain selected in your wallet and the deposit network selected at the recipient. Any mismatch requires clarification before sending.
A bridged balance may need a separate conversion
A third-party representation has a mechanism and dependencies of its own. Moving it to an address that accepts native USDC does not automatically convert it.
If a conversion is required, establish which asset you receive, which party controls the process and what it costs. Include that step when comparing the total usable output.
Compare the usable output, not the headline fee

MATIC, POL and USDC are not three names for one token
Older offers may refer to a MATIC USDC mixer. Polygon's documentation identifies POL as the gas and staking token replacing MATIC. Neither MATIC nor POL identifies the USDC contract. Check Polygon PoS and the native USDC identifier separately.
A Polygon mixer still has to identify its output representation, custody and deposit conditions. If the output is bridged USDC rather than native USDC, verify the conversion needed for your recipient before comparing the price. A network label does not promise private transfers or waive identity checks.
Polygon USDC: token identity comes before the gas token
Polygon PoS native USDC, a bridged USDC representation and a service's USDC label can lead to different receiving outcomes. Verify Circle's identifier and the recipient's accepted contract separately.
POL is the network gas and staking token in the current Polygon documentation. It does not identify the USDC balance, prove a mixer route or make a transfer private.
Match the Polygon token, not just its ticker
Match native USDC with Circle's Polygon PoS identifier. Treat a bridged representation as a separate token and confirm the exact contract accepted by the recipient.
The referenced Polygon documentation identifies POL as the network's gas and staking token. POL pays network costs; it is not the USDC balance. Check any service deductions separately, and do not infer privacy or recipient support from a low network fee.
